As for the aesthetics, don’t worry – there are plenty of options when it comes to gym shoes, and you can certainly find a pair that is both comfortable and cool.

Gym clothes

Another important component of a gym bag would be the right type of clothing that’s made specifically for working out. You don’t want to bring any T-shirt – it has to be a shirt that is comfortable, form-fitting and made of breathable fabrics such as spandex and lycra.

Opt for a dry-fit shirt or tank, as they absorb sweat and keep you dry, providing you with ultimate comfort.

As for the shorts, opt for the ones that moisture-wicking, well-fitted and sweat-proof. Avoid wearing cotton shirts and shorts to the gym since they will absorb the sweat and it will stick to your body. Don’t forget to bring socks, too!

Quality underwear

It goes without saying that having quality underwear is a must, not just for the gym but for every day as well.

That is why choosing the fabrics that are made from natural materials such as bamboo is a great choice for working out – they wick moisture away from your skin, and they are light, silky and antibacterial.

By opting for men’s underwear that is both comfortable and made from natural materials. You’re providing yourself with quality undergarments that will allow your skin to breathe and keep you aired out.

Workout gloves

To make your workout less painful and protect your hands from slipping, you need to throw in some workout gloves and wraps when packing your gym bag.

If your favorite activity at the gym is weight lifting, you’ve got to make sure that you wear those in order to avoid painful blisters that take days to heal.

Gym gloves provide you with comfort and investing in a pair of quality ones you’re making sure they’ll last you longer.

A pair of leather gloves is a good option since it’s durable, but you won’t make a mistake if you go for the ones made of lycra either.

Having proper hygiene is crucial when you’re at the gym. Since sweat is inevitable, you’ll need a quality gym towel. Microfiber towels are highly absorbent and bacteria-resistant, which makes them a popular choice among gym enthusiasts.

Another good choice for a sports towel is a bamboo towel – similar to microfiber, it is great at absorbing sweat and has antimicrobial properties.

What makes bamboo a slightly better choice is the fact that they are eco-friendly. And they don’t get damp odor if you accidentally forget to dry them – how cool is that?

Personal hygiene product

In order to avoid awkward encounters when going home after working out, make sure to pack your personal hygiene products before hitting the gym. A deodorant is a good option, but that alone isn’t enough for neutralising an hour-worth of a workout.

Don’t be a person who overlooks the importance of post-workout cleanliness – bring your shower gel, shampoo, deodorant or roll-on stick, and you’re set. That way you don’t have to worry about running into someone you know and smelling funky.

A water bottle

After a long workout, it’s time to hydrate your body. But what if you get thirsty in the middle of your workout session? That’s why it might come in handy to have your own reusable water bottle at all times.

That way, not only are you making sure you’re staying hydrated, but you’re boosting your performance since an optimal water intake is in direct correlation with how well you perform.

Keep your concentration levels up and throw in a large water bottle next time you pack your gym bag!

Wireless earphones

Music affects our mood, and it can surely have a big impact on how you feel when you’re in the middle of a workout. That is why bringing your wireless Bluetooth earphones or earbuds when going to the gym is a necessary component for a successful workout session.

They get your blood pumping and can stimulate you to work harder and set a new personal record.

A sport armband

If you’re someone who likes running on treadmills, you know how annoying it can be to have your phone jumping in your pocket while you’re running.

If you like listening to music on your phone, sport armbands are your best friend – you won’t have run while holding your phone and worrying about it dropping on the floor or on the treadmill since they’ll keep your phone in place and your hands free.

A fitness tracker

Tracking how your body reacts to different exercises is a good way to see what works best for you. In addition, it allows you to look at your workout as a game and it can bring out the competitive side of your character.

If you’re someone who always strives for more and pushes themselves to be better, a fitness tracker is just what you need.

Find a good fitness tracker and track your heart rate, your steps and your overall workout performance to get a hold of your workout sessions.  Let the adrenaline kick in and give it all you’ve got!
