Learn How To Join A Rugby Team

When you’re a fitness fanatic but hate to work out alone, the best thing to do is join a team. Sports teams are always looking for new people to join up,

so you need to be ready, and you need to find a club that is looking to try out new players. So, there are certain things that you need to do to be ready to play rugby, and we’ve got a list of ideas for you below!

If you’re looking to start a rugby team, you have a lot to think about from the Custom Rugby League Kit to the place you plan to play.

It would help if you had players of an excellent level to play for you, and they need to be fit enough to play. However, you’re not ready to start your own team yet – so let’s focus on getting you on your first rugby team!

The first thing that you need to think about is your fitness and strength. You don’t need to be an expert or fit enough to run a marathon to play on a team, but you do need to have an ability to play! Here are some fitness pointers:

  • You need to run a lap or two around a pitch without an issue.
  • You don’t have to bench press hundreds of pounds at a time
  • You do need to bench press 20-30lb at a time.
  • Joining a gym to build your strength is not a bad idea.

There are also things that you need for training, and the rugby gear that you need will include things like:

  • A gumshield to protect your mouth
  • Boots with studs
  • Shorts
  • Jersey
  • Socks

Your team may provide you with custom clothes anyway, but once you’re well equipped, you can be ready to play.

You’ll need to know the game before you play it, and if you’re brand new to rugby, learning the rules is a smart place to start.

You can pick these up as you play, but a little research on the rugby rules is not a bad idea in the slightest.

You’ll be joining a club as a junior player so you won’t have to worry too much about getting all the rules down before your first practice.

Once you have all this down, finding the right rugby club is your next bet. Find the number of the local rugby clubs and get to know which ones are close enough to get to regularly.

You don’t want to choose a place too far away; otherwise, you’ll end up spending a lot of money to get there.

Getting together with a group of new friends is going to be a great way to blow off some steam, and when you find those local rugby clubs, you can give them a call to find out the best times to come down for a game.

They should also be able to tell you the cost of playing, too, and whether you need to bring anything with you!
